Our MissionTaking the approach of social entrepreneurship, we are a coalition of gardeners and urban farmers working to enrich the overall quality of life in Newark, New Jersey by developing, supporting and promoting city gardens, produce farms and other agricultural space. The Purpose of this SiteOne of our goals is to create a network for all of Newark's gardeners and urban farmers to share and exchange ideas and resources. To accomplish this goal we created a comprehensive online listing of all community gardens (public and private) as well as local farmers markets. This network will be a good opportunity for you to inform others who may be interested in getting involved with local gardening and live in your area about your garden. |
How This Site Works
If you are a gardener who would like to network with other gardeners or farmers markets;
Step 1: Send an e-mail to Renee Kee of the Greater Newark Conservancy at rkee@citybloom.org with the following information:Your Name (or your garden representative's name)
Your Garden Name (if applicable)
Your Garden Address
Your Garden's Ward (i.e. North, South, East, West, Central)
Your phone number or
Your e-mail address
Step 2: If you have a need for your garden, post a comment on the "community garden calendar" page indicating your need.
Step 3: If you can supply the need for someone else, reply to their post or to them directly indicating that you have what they need.
To Post Your Garden EventSend an e-mail to Renee Kee at rkee@citybloom.org with the heading "Community Garden Calendar'' with your event information (i.e. name of event, time, date and location). She will update the calendar - It's that simple!
